In the face of the conspicuous increase in information generation and availability, access to electronic sources demands specific skills. The medical sphere is not exempt from a genuine interest in learning to research and select information, particularly during professional training phases. This report aimed to evaluate the effect of an Information Literacy Workshop through a two-measurement quasi-experimental study carried out among a natural group of second-year resident pediatricians. A 4-section "Information Access Competence Questionnaire" was prepared and validated for this assessment. The Workshop consisted of three sessions of 60 minutes and a fourth one of 120 minutes. Section 3 reported a reliability of 0.90, while section 4 reported 0.60. Final grades were superior to initial grades (section 3 p=0.01, section 4 p=0.05). The Workshop had a favorable effect on resident physicians' information literacy.
