Given the undoubted interest in knowing information users and the scarce Spanish practice in this regard, especially in the field of archives, the main objective of this work is to find out the needs of information, the information behavior and the degree of satisfaction of users of the Historical Archive of the Complutense University of Madrid, using a quantitative methodology based on a questionnaire. One of the main results obtained is that the few users who come to this archive search for information about a character through the center’s database and are satisfied with the information obtained. Among the conclusions reached, it stands out that there is still a way to go around the question of whether the Research-University Archives binomial is consolidated, and that strategies adapted to the needs of users should be proposed in order to adapt resources to social and technological changes and following certain lines of action.
