GUIMARAES, Ítalo José Bastos; ARAUJO, Wagner Junqueira de e SOUSA, Marckson Roberto Ferreira de. Study based in the literature indexed in the Scopus database on web accessibility. A general overview about the international scientific production on web accessibility is presented through the survey of the main areas of knowledge that publish over the theme the countries and universities that have relevant international production, identifies the main authors and media where they are published, points out the main terms adopted in the research conducted by the authors. The methodology employed uses a descriptive quanti-qualitative approach that was divided in two stages, namely: (1) survey on international production on web accessibility using the Scopus database as a source, and (2) analysis of the main concepts. The results showed that the largest areas of knowledge that produce publications on the subject are: computer science, mathematics and social sciences. The United States is at the forefront in scientific production on the subject, Spain and the United Kingdom stand out, and Brazil appeared in fourth position. The most frequently used terms are “web”, “accessibility” and the union of the two words, “web accessibility”. As results, 2,448 different authors were identified, out of which 622 published more than one text; also an analysis of the co-authorship network was prepared. It is suggested that other studies use a qualitative approach that permits further analysis of the main concepts, allowing to identify which of them are the most used and to verify any differences in understanding of the theme.
