Resumen
BARTOLUCCI, Jorge. Science as a Sociological Problem. Sociológica (Méx.) [online]. 2017, vol.32, n.92, pp.9-40. ISSN 2007-8358.
This article expresses a theoretical point of view about the attributes of science that make it a matter of sociological interest. With that aim in mind, the author reviews the fundamental hypotheses of Robert Merton, Karl Popper, Thomas Kuhn, and some proponents of the “strong program” of the sociology of science, discussing their ideas about the principles of scientific validation. The aim is to show that despite their -sometimes radical- differences, they agree on underestimating strictly logical criteria and on looking at intersubjective communicational processes that take place in scientific communities.
