Resumen
LOEZA REYES, Laura. Inequality and Social Injustice: The Central Cores of Social Identities in Mexico. Sociológica (Méx.) [online]. 2015, vol.30, n.84, pp.181-206. ISSN 2007-8358.
This article presents an analytical approach for studying relationships among social identities and social inequality and injustice as long-term historical processes. It presents the influence of these processes in the difficulty of building a civic identity that will lead to democratic governments and political processes. The analysis centers on what is called the historical-cultural matrix, the source of the discourses that form identities. The author uses the theories of narrativity, the coloniality of power, and the performativity of discourses to explain the origin and operation of this matrix.
Palabras llave : social identities; narrativity; coloniality of power; inequality; social injustice.
