The purpose of this article is to study the demography and the location of manufacturing enterprises in Mexico during the period 2014-2024. It analyzes the opening, closing, and survival of manufacturing firms according to size and industrial activity, as well as the location patterns in the country’s largest cities. Additionally, it elaborates on changes in the size and industrial activity of firms and on relocation experiences. The basic information source is the National Statistical Directory of Economic Units (DENUE). The main results show significant birth and death rates among manufacturing firms in Mexico during the period in question. The net growth of manufacturing companies was explained by the exploitation of urbanization economies, location economies, and industrial mix. The firm´s relocation is not common.
