The Diocese of Chihuahua is related to the impulse of Rerum Novarum, its first three bishops supported social Catholicism. It was characterized by its peaceful orientation, in the porfirista stage they respected the political authorities, they were alien to the armed resistance. However, in the second half of the 1920s they changed their pacifist attitude to a defensive one and even motivated them to decide on the war option. On January 23, 1927, the Revista Católica, published in El Paso, Texas, a plan for an armed religious uprising, whose objective was to overthrow Plutarco Elías Calles. What caused the change and prompted the armed option? What happened to this plan?
