Resumen
CUCCHI, Laura y NAVAJAS, María José. An "Awkward" Actor the Political Press in Cordoba and Tucuman in the Late 1870s. Speeches, Practices and Performances. Secuencia [online]. 2012, n.82, pp.41-71. ISSN 2395-8464.
This paper reflects on the role played by the political press in two Argentinean provinces, Córdoba and Tucuman, in the development of a particularly conflictive moment: the years that elapsed between the proclamation of the conciliation of the parties in 1877 until the presidential elections of 1880. This context saw an intense debate in which newspapers played a leading role and key issues in 19th century policy were discussed. This is fertile ground for the exploration of practices and representations linked to the role of the press as a key actor in the expression and dissemination of divergent opinions and political conflict management.
