This study is the result of an initial analysis of the social and economic conditions of the Otomf at "La Casona" in colonia Roma. Several questions have obviously yet to be answered on their internal organization, their economic activities, the problems they face on an everyday basis, their family links with their community of origin and the everyday struggle to preserve their customs, traditions and religious celebrations in the urban environment. Taken as a whole these are essential aspects for understanding the process of reproduction and social cohesion they experience in Mexico City.
