Abstract

This text has the sole intention of analyzing the relationship between gay political organization and public space. We believe that to analyze this relationship, we have to find essential elements that trace the process of building citizenship, as it developed after the "appearance" of HIV Aids. We argue that the collective gay organization derived from this event was associated with that the media not only promoted a malignant idea of homosexuality, but also the fact of appearing in them. It seems essential to discuss this idea in a current context in which the approval of same sex marriage is highly relevant.
