ROITMAN, Patricia. The self-understanding of an ethnographic process: socio-educational epistemology from a Shelter School. Relac. Estud. hist. soc. [online]. 2024, vol.45, n.179, pp.197-216.  Epub 26-Ago-2024. ISSN 2448-7554.  https://doi.org/10.24901/rehs.v45i179.1044.

The present text is inscribed as a reconstruction of an ethnographic process related to the self-understanding perspective and a socio-educational epistemology. The research contributes to understanding the singularity school called Escuela Albergue. The article considers the world as a constant interpretation, which is presented in the corpus as a narrative inflection, of an evocative nature consistent with the meaning of the epistemological proposal. Focuses on autobiography as a condition for an ethnographic narrative that suggests analogical hermeneutics and its intertwined components as language toward essayistic gestures. It presents some social dimensions of the construct Escuela Albergue as an ethnographic research process in an interpretative key in dialogue with epistemologies of the psychology of affectivity. The narration thus conceived, is presented as an aesthetic experience articulated to the web of possibilities of ethnographic research. The gaze is located in a biographical condition, interpretable as an understanding of the world and its questions as a fusion of horizons, writing as a question of reading, and ethnography as a narrative character. It ends by reflecting on ethnographic work as a living archive.

Palavras-chave : Self-understanding; Ethnographic narrative; Gestural essay.
