The Covid-19 pandemic has triggered a crisis in Mexico and Latin America that affects, among many other aspects, the human rights of children and adolescents. This study focuses on the scenario of orphanhood and violence as a factor that jeopardizes the wellbeing of this population sector using the parameters of measurement indicators. From a humanist perspective, it reflects on the influence of the State and its responsibility to guarantee the exercise of the rights of girls, boys, and adolescents. It also addresses the urgent actions required to protect children and adolescents, and regional mechanisms that seek to contribute to the defense of, and respect for, their prerogatives. Finally, it identifies some of the most important current challenges.
