Abstract

GRANADOS CAMPOS, Luis Roberto. Cultural Ecology: Metamorphosis of a Holometabolous Concept. Relac. Estud. hist. soc. [online]. 2010, vol.31, n.123, pp.183-218. ISSN 2448-7554.

Based on a critical view of the central postulates of cultural ecology, this article shows that the way in which a people extends its hand towards nature is determined by social relations, elements that both constitute and give cohesion to human sociability: society and its culture. The essay profiles one category of socio-ecological analysis that allows us to understand the operation of the society-nature complex.

Keywords : ecology; socio-ecology; self-ecology; social relations.
