This study analyzes the curriculum design updates for College-level Technicians (Técnicos Superiores Universitarios) according to the competence based approach. The paper is based on a bibliographic review and testimonial reports on curriculum design from the Project Management and Evaluation program offered at two Technological Universities (TUs). Through our field work, we discovered the importance of the process of identifying work competences relevant to the program, as well as the main mechanisms for their translation/transformation into educational objectives and goals.
