This theoretical paper stresses the importance of addressing diversity in the European Area for Higher Education (EAHE) in order to identify teaching capabilities related to dealing with diversity, that help to include all students. The EAHE entails a wide range of modifications at all levels (teacher, student, methodology, evaluation, teaching guidelines…) The capabilities required in teachers are thus presented, developed and synthesized, they are those aimed at fostering the inclusion of all students in a higher education domain which creates opportunities for integration and social transformation.
