In the training of teachers of History, Geography, and Social Sciences in Chile some weaknesses are noticed, such as the disciplinary predominance, the lack of articulation between theory and practice, and the development of historical thought. The research question that arises is what elements of historical thought incorporate the teachers in training when they think the teaching of History? The methodology is mixed and the design of a multiple case study. The sample consists of 69 students from five universities in Chile. The collection of information was carried out with narratives and analysis through descriptive statistics using SPSS and content and category analysis using Atlas-ti 9.0. The results indicate that students use sources for literal extraction of information; narratives are descriptive and lack problematization and historical questions; and history is presented as a finished truth.
