Resumen

SEOANE, José. Non-Argumentative Paralogisms in Lógica viva: False Precision. Diánoia [online]. 2024, vol.69, n.93, pp.3-28.  Epub 01-Nov-2024. ISSN 0185-2450.  https://doi.org/10.22201/iifs.18704913e.2024.93.2083.

Uruguayan philosopher Carlos Vaz Ferreira published in 1910 Lógica viva, his main philosophical work. In it he presents a logical exploration program, its foundations and some of its applications. As part of these, he studies various paralogisms which can be enhanced by appealing to a methodology that I called “model M”. But this model does not manage to cover all the paralogisms proposed by Vaz. Other types of stereotyped errors are refractory to such treatment, which I call non-argument paralogisms; for example, false precision. In this paper I will suggest an alternative model M* and apply it to false precision.

Palabras llave : Vaz Ferreira; fallacies; argumentation; logic.
