Resumen

AIMINO, Matías. Late Enlightenment Attitude and Scientific Optimism in Red Vienna. Diánoia [online]. 2024, vol.69, n.92, pp.25-49.  Epub 13-Ene-2025. ISSN 0185-2450.  https://doi.org/10.22201/iifs.18704913e.2024.92.2048.

Most of the studies on the relations between the Vienna Circle and the Frankfurt School do not usually refer to Austro-Marxism, which constitutes the historical and political framework in which the Vienna Circle was developed and consolidated. However, it is important to consider it in order to understand the philosophical and political position of the Vienna Circle and, in particular, its late Enlightenment attitude and scientific optimism. This article provides a reconstruction of that framework and shows that there is a noteworthy convergence between Austro-Marxism and the left wing of the Vienna Circle, both in terms of thought and concrete action.

Palabras llave : Austro-Marxism; Vienna Circle; social revolution; unity of science; democratization of knowledge.
