Abstract
NAHUEL MARTIN, Facundo. Nancy Fraser: From Redistribution to a Critique of Capitalism. Diánoia [online]. 2020, vol.65, n.85, pp.161-192. Epub Mar 19, 2021. ISSN 0185-2450. https://doi.org/10.22201/iifs.18704913e.2020.85.1740.
In this paper I will try to compare two periods in Nancy Fraser's theoretical evolution: her analysis of contemporary capitalism as an institutional social order (developed in several articles published since 2012 and a book co-written with Rahel Jaggi in 2018) and her previous categorial framework (outlined in Justice Interruptus), based on the dualims of redistribution and recognition. I will highlight three major ruptures in her intellectual development: in the diagnosis of present times (from the post-socialist condition to the crisis of neoliberalism), in the understanding of capitalism as such (from the distinction between culture and economy to institutional divisions) and in political proposal (from transformative strategies to boundary struggles).
Keywords : critical theory; recognition.
