The aim of this article is to show female participation in the 2021 elections in Mexico, both through the quantitative presence at the various government levels, as well as other qualitative aspects. To this end, data and historical information, legislative reforms, and affirmative actions such as the implementation of parity were reviewed. This text was carried out through a review of official sources, as well as monitoring the electoral process, both through data, regulations, and results. The findings obtained highlight the progressive increase of women, since there is parity in almost all positions, especially in the federal legislative and local congresses. Another point to underscore is the high number of female governors in this election, which, in contrast to the number of women who have held that position throughout the country’s history, is higher. Finally, it is important to point out the persistence of political violence against women, despite institutional efforts in this regard.
