Resumen
YUNPENG, Xu. China's 'double carbon' commitment at a critical juncture of climate change and global warming. Estud. polít. (Méx.) [online]. 2025, n.66, pp.35-57. Epub 07-Ago-2026. ISSN 0185-1616. https://doi.org/10.22201/fcpys.24484903e.2025.66.94082.
This article hypothesizes that China, despite the enormous size of its economy, continues to be a country that faces restrictions in accessing the resources and technologies necessary for its national growth; however, it has not ceased to actively participate in global efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. As part of its vision of a responsible power that seeks to build a community with a shared future for humanity, China has promoted the 'dual carbon' goal aimed at reaching a peak in carbon dioxide emissions by 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2060.
