Abstract

GALLO, Ariadna; GRINSTEIN, Candela; PESQUERO BORDON, Jimena  and  DIAZ ESTERIO, Rodrigo. Subordinated parties in fragile coalitions before the electoral revalidation instance. Study of the Argentine UCR and the Chilean DC in the electoral process 2017. Estud. polít. (Méx.) [online]. 2020, n.51, pp.67-102.  Epub Sep 03, 2024. This paper attempts to analyze the role of a historical party (formerly structured) that forms part of a transitory and electoral alliance in office, occupying a subordinate place. For this we will study two Latin American political parties in crisis, through a multiple case study: Unión Cívica Radical of Argentina, member of the ruling coalition Cambiemos, and Chilean Christian Democracy, which broke with the at that time New Majority alliance.

Keywords : Political parties; political alliances; Argentina; Chile; Latin America.
