Abstract

DIAZ GUEVARA, Héctor Hernán. Revolutionary Romanticism? The Realistic Aesthetic as a Scenario of the Sino-Soviet Dispute in the Work of Clemencia Lucena (1971-1983). An. Inst. Investig. Estét [online]. 2025, vol.47, n.126, pp.243-282.  Epub Sep 01, 2025. ISSN 0185-1276.  https://doi.org/10.22201/iie.18703062e.2025.126.2893.

This article addresses the work of the Colombian painter Clemencia Lucena, whose graphic and written production expresses a realism of its own, whose approach centers on the recovery of the idea of the worker/art producer, as a forgotten constant in discussions about revolutionary art during the 20th century. This enables us to think of it as an art differentiated from the Soviet canon.

Keywords : Socialist realism; revolutionary romanticism; Clemencia Lucena; Sino-Soviet Split, Latin American art.
