This writer sets out to elucidate the delights of the Hypnerotomachia Poliphili by an analysis of different editions and translations throughout the centuries. The article also explores images inspired by this book in gardens of the Italian Renaissance, such as the Sacro Bosco at Bomarzo. Finally, readings of some texts of fundamental importance for understanding hermetic philosophy help to reveal the book's undeniable beauty.
