Abstract

RAMIREZ, Amalia. El devenir histórico de la alfarería de Zinapécuaro, tensiones discursivas en torno al patrimonio cultural. Nueva antropol [online]. 2016, vol.29, n.85, pp.31-52. ISSN 0185-0636.

The case of pottery production in Zinapécuaro, Michoacán, allows us to reflect on the discourse (at times inharmonious) on the cultural heritage, traditional knowhow and identity, inasmuch as approaching ancient history and the present reveal notable situations which have shaped invented traditions. In the present article, based on archaeological, historical and ethnographic information, we center on the analysis of pottery to the negation and its “reinsertion” into the technical continuum of handcrafting, and whose impact on the market of handicrafts has gone hand in hand with the above mentioned discourse.

Keywords : Cultural heritage; traditional knowhow; handicraft production.
