In recent years we have seen significant development in research and publications related to feelings, affections, and emotions. This development corresponds to the key role that emotions play in new forms of organization of power and economy on a global level. This article proposes that the relevance of feelings in late capitalism is in the productive character that they have on off-center subjects on this new stage who now depend on their own motivation to survive in the new context of insecurity and labor flexibility. Based on ethnographic projects in transnational contexts, made by a team of anthropologists, this article provides a conceptual framework to contribute to the construction of a political economy of affections.
