Abstract

GARCIA-GRAJALES, Jesús; BUENROSTRO-SILVA, Alejandra  and  MERAZ HERNANDO, Juan Francisco. Noteworthy record of Aramides axillaris (Gruiformes, Rallidae) in the edge of Sierra Sur of Oaxaca, Mexico. Acta Zool. Mex [online]. 2016, vol.32, n.2, pp.206-209. ISSN 2448-8445.

Through the use of camera traps we recorded the presence of an individual of the rufous-necked wood rail (Aramides axillaris) on the edge of Sierra Sur and coastal plains of the Pacific in the state of Oaxaca. This record is remarkable for two reasons: the altitude and the vegetation, so the present record is the highest for Mexico (834 msnm) and the first for semideciduous tropical forest.
