PEREZ DUARTE Y NORONA, Alicia Elena. Reflections on the Exploitation of Women’s Reproductive Capacity (Surrogacy). Bol. Mex. Der. Comp. [online]. 2022, vol.55, n.165, pp.231-253. Epub 12-Dic-2023. ISSN 2448-4873. https://doi.org/10.22201/iij.24484873e.2022.165.18611.
Originating from a review of the recent history on international agreements regarding population, women and children’s human rights, I reflect about the impact that the human reproduction techniques known as surrogate motherhood or gestation have on the dignity of the same women and children, as well as their right to live without violence. I review the agreements about public politics of population and development to point where the conflict between these reproductive techniques and the ethical principles of human dignity come by keeping the human rights on top. This review allows us to get involved in the market on uterus for rent, which are indicative of a form of exploiting the reproductive capabilities of women and a new form of violence that also affects the children born of these techniques.
