Abstract

This article analyzes the solutions established by Inter-american Private International Law on control of international jurisdiction as a condition for the extraterritorial validity of foreign judgments, emphasizing the need to define new conventional regulations at the continental level in order to achieve an effective approval by States, for the purpose of ensuring an adequate international circulation of judgments and the necessary protection of the rights of individuals.
