In this paper the author analyzes the influence of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights judgments on the recent development of the internal laws of the Latin-American countries. For this purpose he treats the creation and functions of the Inter-American Commission and the Inter-American Court of Human Rights. He also studies the composition of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, its adjudicatory and advisory jurisdiction and the characteristics of its judgments. He also considers the conventional review at an international level by the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, and at a domestic level by the powers of each State, particularly by the judges. Finally, the author analyzes five specific cases.
