Abstract

MEZA FLORES, Jorge Humberto. Protection of Economic, Social and Cultural Rights in the Inter-American System for the Protection of Human Rights. Bol. Mex. Der. Comp. [online]. 2011, vol.44, n.132, pp.1127-1170. ISSN 2448-4873.

The article provides a theoretical model for analysis of the obligations emanating from economic, social and cultural rights that distinguish the obligation to guarantee an essential minimum of these rights from that of attaining the progressive development of the same. The foregoing has the objective of verifying if this model is applicable to the argumentative structure that the Inter-American Court has followed in its sentences to declare a violation of the rights contained in the American Convention related with the protection of economic, social, and cultural rights.

Keywords : human rights; economic, social and cultural rights; Inter-American Court; Inter-American System; American Convention.
