University radio stations have positioned themselves in the country’s media ecosystem in the last 30 years as a union with media and educational impact. Therefore, this text identifies and analyzes 109 university radio stations in Mexico with various models and profiles whose concession title is public or social, in addition to online media. The social and technical foundation is debated at various times in its history and the relevance of, when it comes to broadcast media, being recognized through a type of use tailored to national legislation, is argued.
