An endemic problem in some cities is the lack of social awareness of the heritage and cultural value that historic buildings represent as tangible testimonies of the memory of cities. From the observation of facades with visible graphic elements integrated into the built environment of Tampico, Tamaulipas, Mexico, and the absence of a reflexive-critical instrument of the tangible legacy of the visible inscriptions on historiographical facades derived from historical, sociocultural and economics, the meaning of graphic testimonies inscribed in 75 objects is addressed in a descriptive and quantitative way, while the characteristics and discursive typological patterns of time and life are studied, delimited in the temporality of the oil and commercial boom from 1911 to 1938 in area. Graphic records and informative data are analyzed with formal and socio-discursive typological characteristics at a graphic level as relevant aspects for the significance of the historical heritage memory of buildings as a cultural, social and historical legacy of the main city in the south of the state of Tamaulipas.
