ESTRELLA-GARCIA, Andrea Guadalupe et al. Strategy: assessment of domestic, productiveorganizational, and community activities among women coffee producers in the High Mountains region of Veracruz, Mexico. Inter disciplina [online]. 2026, vol.14, n.38, pp.299-328. Epub 18-Mar-2026. ISSN 2448-5705. https://doi.org/10.22201/ceiich.24485705e.2026.38.93685.
The objective of the study was to make visible the contributions of women coffee producers in the High Mountains region of Veracruz, in the domestic, productive-organizational and community spheres, from a gender perspective and an introspective experiential approach. The methodology was qualitative and quantitative through the technique of focus groups with participatory dynamics and a semi-structured format for the evaluation of activities. Among the results, it was identified that the producers of Incafesam S. C. dedicate more time to the productive-organizational area (50%); they estimated that they worked 70 hours per week and the replacement cost was US$259.91 for domestic activities and US $102.96 for productive activities. The producers of the URH S.S.S. for the domestic area (80%), indicated that they work 72 hours per week and the replacement cost was US$221.81 for domestic activities and US$103.96 for productive activities. The conclusion was that the visibility of these contributions depended on the producers’s self-recognition and active participation in their organization, and that both organizations need to promote strategies to reduce the domestic workload of women.
