Freedom, the right to expression in its political dimension and democracy: theoretical analysis from a psychosocial perspective. Polít. globalidad. ciudad. [online]. 2025, vol.11, n.22, pp.86-100. This article presents a theoretical analysis from a psychosocial approach on the relationship between individual freedom, right of expression in the political sphere and democracy. Through documentary research and the objective and neutral analytical examination of academic production, theoretical constructs linking the individual’s internal experience with social and political dynamics are explored. The main objective is to deepen existing knowledge about the notions of freedom, decision and expression within contemporary institutional and social frameworks. It seeks to analyse the degree of autonomy of the individual in complex political contexts, as well as the nature of his decisions within normative structures. Limits to the exercise of the right of expression are also examined, particularly in public deliberation and political competition scenarios. Finally, there is a critical reflection on the interdependence between freedom and democracy in collective decision-making processes. The results of the study highlight that the individual’s responses are mostly influenced by external factors and secondary links. The democratic process seeks to balance individual freedom with collective consensus, establishing a shared truth. In conclusion, free expression is essential for understanding motivations and maintaining social cohesion, although some expressions may exceed what is acceptable and permitted by normative agreements, especially when they involve grievances, incitement to violence or disruption of peace.ments, particularly when they involve grievances, incitement to violence, or disruption of peace.
