NUNEZ DEL RIO, María Cristina; BIENCINTO LOPEZ, Chantal; CARPINTERO MOLINA, Elvira  y  GARCIA GARCIA, Mercedes. Approaches to diversity, learning strategies and motivation in secondary education. Perfiles educativos [online]. 2014, vol.36, n.145, pp.65-80. ISSN 0185-2698.

This exploratory study aims to identify and analyze differences in the learning strategies and motivational patterns manifested by high school students from the Madrid Community, based on the educational approach to diversity in the said study center. A total of 437 students answered the Learning Strategies and Motivation Questionnaire (CEAM). Several descriptive analyses were carried out, along with an analysis of variance (ANOVA) on student outcomes depending on the focus of attention placed on diversity within the schools studied throughout the Questionnaire. Statistically, significant differences were found in favor of the Integral Adaptation Center regarding learning strategies (relationship building) and motivation (intrinsic for group work and internal attribution). These results support the desirability for educational establishments to adopt an inclusive approach to diversity so as to improve the independent learning skills among their students.
