The purpose of this research is to describe the discourse practices of museums and their sense effects on their visitors. A discourse analysis of communication was carried out in three museums of Querétaro, México ("La Magia del Pasado" Museum, Regional Museum and Art Museum), focusing on their youngest visitors in a school visit. Our analysis is divided into two stages: 1) the study of the museums overall discourse strategies (space, text and museographic discourses), 2) the construction of an instrument that can account for the narrative experiences that children establish with those discourses. The results of such analysis are presented in order to determine the efficiency of the museums communication with their youngest visitors.
