This article is an exploratory study that seeks to identify students’ perception of their country and of their social and political environment, their attitude to public interest issues, as well as their experiences of voluntary participation in groups and organizations of various kinds at two private universities located in Mexico City. Results are compared based on college, gender, and socioeconomic status.
