This text was presented as a research advance in the 2016 Research Conference of the CEIICH-UNAM. The generalities and advances of the postdoctoral research project Amateur audiovisual production: variations and continuities in the digital age were presented there. The project was developed in the 2015-2016 period thanks to the post-doctoral scholarship program of the UNAM, within the Program of Research in Visual Studies, in the CEIICH-UNAM. The research project sought to reflect on the importance of audiovisual as a necessary vector to understand the changes generated in the production and circulation of information in the digital age, as well as to account for the relationship between the techno-cultural processes of the present and those of the past.
