El artículo tiene como objetivo conocer cómo se están configurando los imaginarios sociales acerca del periodismo digital en Latinoamérica a partir de la revisión de tipo exploratoria, de investigaciones realizadas en ese contexto regional. Tiene, como sustento inicial, que el desarrollo del periodismo digital ha traído consecuencias para la profesión tanto en el nivel de competencias y credibilidad, como en los ámbitos organizacional y laboral; de ahí que el análisis de imaginarios de la profesión en el escenario de las redes digitales ofrezca un panorama de las realidades intersubjetivas que se vislumbran como desafío. En general, se observa una persistente distinción entre lo tradicional y lo digital como emergente, conjugado con significaciones de profesionalidad, responsabilidad, credibilidad y confianza.

The paper aims to find out how social imaginaries about digital journalism in Latin America are being configured, based on an exploratory review of research carried out in this regional context. Its initial support is that the development of digital journalism has brought consequences for the profession both in the level of competencies and credibility, as well as in the organizational and labor fields; hence, the analysis of imaginaries of the profession in the scenario of digital networks offers an overview of the intersubjective realities that are glimpsed as a challenge. In general, a persistent distinction is observed between the traditional and the digital as emerging, combined with meanings of professionalism, responsibility, credibility and trust.
