Leonardo da Vinci es uno de los miembros más notables de nuestra civilización. Erudito sin par, fue un excepcional pintor, arquitecto, inventor y científico en una época donde la humanidad despertaba del largo letargo de la Edad Media y estaba ávida de conocimientos y desarrollo. En este trabajo, que sirve de introducción a los restantes de este número, se hace una apretada síntesis de los aspectos más destacados de su vida y su obra.

Leonardo da Vinci is one of the most notable members of our civilization. Unparalleled scholar, he was an exceptional painter, architect, inventor and scientist at a time when humanity woke up from the long lethargy of the Middle Ages and was hungry for knowledge and development.
