Se presenta una revisión acerca de las materias que atienden los estudios basados en Teoría Fundamentada a 50 años de la incorporación de este método en el ámbito científico. Se realiza un balance entre los aportes y los pendientes que prevalecen en la investigación en educación médica a partir del origen de los datos, los actores educativos, el tipo de educación médica y temáticas recurrentes.

This review presents the subjects that attend the studies based on Grounded Theory 50 years after this method was incorporated in scientific field. It also presents a balance between the contributions and the pending for the future in medical education research from the origin of the data, educational actors, type of medical education and recurring themes.
