En este artículo se analizan cuatro poemas de Red (1928) -“Pájaros adivinadores”, “Circo”, “Rueda de la fortuna” y “Lotería”-, bajo la hipótesis de que pueden leerse como una estancia en la feria, dentro del viaje onírico que plantea el poemario. Dicho espacio se construye mediante tres ejes: lo infantil, lo lúdico y lo festivo, que, en conjunto, reformulan las atracciones y establecen nuevas reglas de juego. Con lo anterior, se destaca una parte de la propuesta de Ortiz de Montellano en sus obras de juventud y se apela a una revaloración de las mismas, no como antecedente de las preocupaciones que se hallarán en su obra posterior, sino por su propia valía.

This article analyzes four poems of Red (1928) -“Pájaros adivinadores”, “Circo”, “Rueda de la fortuna” and “Lotería”-, based on the hypothesis that they can be interpreted as a stop at a carnival, in the oneiric journey that the collection proposes. Three elements give shape to that space: an infantile perspective, the playfulness and the feast context, all of them, as a whole, reformulate the attractions and set new rules for the games. This research then allows to appreciate a part of Ortiz de Montellano’s poetic stance in his youth works and states that they must be studied by their own accord and not as a precedent of future works by the author.
