Leptomeniscal cyst (LC) is characterized by progressive growth of a cranial fracture, with an increase in dehiscence at its edges, which can lead to deformities; the dural defect underlying the fracture and the mechanical force of the cerebral pulsation causes herniation of the leptomeninges through the defect, causing LC. Its prevalence is 1.2% in children under three years of age. LC is usually detected in the first three years after the trauma, although it can go unnoticed for years. LC in adults is an atypical situation uncommonly described in the literature.
