Con este artículo queremos contribuir a una reflexión comparativa entre jesuitas y oratorianos en la Nueva España. Se pretende -con este estudio de caso- proponer una agenda de investigación para remontar las visiones aisladas que impiden observar el espectro completo de la labor religioso-cultural del clero y así poder distinguir entre lo específico y lo general de cada agrupación religiosa en diversos momentos.

This article aims to contribute to a comparative reflection between Jesuits and Oratorians in New Spain. The intention is to propose - through this case-study - a research agenda that goes beyond isolated visions that hinder the observation of a complete spectrum of the religious-cultural labor of the clergy in order to distinguish between the specificities and the generalities of each religious aggrupation in varied moments.
