^les^aEl género Crataegus L. en México está constituido por 13 especies para el centro y norte y probablemente 2 para el sur, de las cuales de 9 a 10 especies son endémicas. La posible distribución de este género en México se desconoce, pero especies de este género han sido reportadas en 20 de los 32 estados de México, pero por el clima donde se desarrollan pueden encontrarse en otras entidades del país. La presente investigación tiene como objetivo establecer la posible distribución del género Crataegus en México, a partir de un Análisis de Información Geográfica (GIS), así como identificar las posibles zonas eco-climáticas donde las especies del género Crataegus están presentes. La mayor probabilidad de distribución del género Crataegus en México es en las zonas montañosas de la Sierra Madre Oriental, Sierra Madre Occidental y de la Sierra Madre del Sur, así como en el Eje Neo-Volcánico. Los grupos de distribución climática son tres: el grupo 1 presenta clima templado (Eje Neo-Volcánico), el grupo 2 clima semidesértico a desértico (Norte y Noreste del país) y el grupo 3 clima subtropical (las zonas montañosas del Pacífico Sur y Golfo de México).^len^aThe Crataegus L. genus in Mexico is constituted by 13 species for the centre and north, and probably two for the south, which 9 to 10 species are endemic. The possible distribution of this genus in Mexico is unknown, but species of this genus have been reported in 20 of the 32 Mexico states; however, species of this genus can be found in other entities of the country because of the climate where they grow. The present research has as an objective the establishment of the possible distribution of the Crataegus genus in Mexico using a Geographic Information System (GIS) analysis, and possible eco-climatic zones identification where the Crataegus genus species are. The higher distribution probability of the Crataegus genus in Mexico is at the Oriental Sierra Madre, Occidental Sierra Madre, and the South Sierra Madre mountainous zones, also in the Neo-Volcanic Axis. The climatic distribution groups are three: the group 1 has a template climate (Neo-Volcanic Axis), the group 2 a semi-desert to desert one (North and Northeast of the country) and the group 3 a subtropical climate (South Pacific and Gulf of Mexico mountaines zones).
