En las últimas décadas las estructuras productivas y financieras de la República Dominicana han presentado características similares a las que muestra la región. En el ámbito del sistema financiero se observan similitudes, en sintonía con los procesos de financiarización experimentados, no obstante, con ciertos rasgos distintivos. El análisis de las implicaciones de este proceso constituye un aspecto clave para entender el desarrollo del país, así como para formular políticas económicas eficaces que permitan alcanzar niveles de crecimiento sostenible.

In recent decades, productive and financial structures in the Dominican Republic have displayed traits similar to those throughout the region. In the financial sphere, there are similarities that line up with the financialization they have undergone, but with certain distinctive nuances. Analyzing the implications of this process is vital to understanding development in the country, as well as to making effective economic policies that achieve sustainable growth levels.
