^les^aDesde una perspectiva sociológica, el artículo aborda la idea de intolerancia específicamente en lo referente a actitudes y prácticas xenofóbicas y las enmarca dentro del concepto de construcción de subjetividad social. En tal sentido, se analiza la idea de que esa no inclusión del “otro” resulta funcional y prospera en un contexto en el que los proyectos de integración regional apuntan a la libre movilidad del capital, pero con un control geográfico de la fuerza de trabajo. Teniendo en cuenta algunos ejemplos, se considera asimismo que cualquier proyecto alternativo requiere la idea de ponderar adecuadamente el papel que tienen las organizaciones de la sociedad civil y el Estado para construir otra subjetividad social incluyente.^len^aFrom a sociological viewpoint, this article addresses intolerance with specific reference to xenophobic attitudes and practices, and it places them within the framework of the construction of social subjectivity. It thus analyzes the idea that this exclusion of the “other” is functional and prospers in a context in which regional integration plans promise free movement for capital but geographical controls on the workforce. After offering a number of examples, it then proposes that any alternative project requires that adequate weight be given to the role played by civil society organizations and the state in constructing another inclusive social subjectivity.
