<self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S2448-76782012000100007&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S2448-76782012000100007&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S2448-76782012000100007&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen Estudios previos constatan que la cultura centrada en el conocimiento (CCC) es predictora de la gestión del conocimiento (GC) en organizaciones empresariales, aunque es poca la atención que han recibido las instituciones de salud, las cuales enfrentan reducción de presupuesto y recursos así como aumento en la demanda de los servicios. Para direccionar la investigación se propone el siguiente objetivo: determinar el grado de asociación y el efecto de la cultura centrada en el conocimiento sobre la gestión del conocimiento en ocho hospitales públicos del Estado de México, en una muestra no probabilística de 189 mandos medios y directivos. Se aplicó un cuestionario autoadministrado de 41 reactivos en escala Likert. Los resultados obtenidos apoyan una asociación moderada y significativa entre las variables en estudio y un efecto positivo de la cultura centrada en el conocimiento sobre la gestión del conocimiento. Se concluye que los mandos medios y directivos gestionan el conocimiento de mejor manera si la cultura centrada en el conocimiento es más cálida, otorga mayores recompensas y apoyo y, permite la autonomía dentro de los hospitales, quedando por identificar otros factores más que la favorezcan.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract Previous studies have found that the knowledge-centered culture (KCC) is a predictor of the knowledge management (KM) in business organizations, even though healthy institutions have received a little of attention, which face budget and resources shrinkage and an increasing demand for services. The purpose of this paper is to determine the degree of association and the effect of knowledge-centered culture on the knowledge management in eight public hospitals within Mexico State, in a non-probability sample of 189 middle-ranking managers and executives. A self-administered questionnaire of 41 Likert scale options was applied. The findings support a moderate and significant association between the variables in study and a positive effect of knowledge-centered culture on knowledge management. It is concluded that the middle-ranking managers and executives manage knowledge in a better way if knowledge-centered culture is warmer, if it gives more rewards and support, and if it allows autonomy within hospitals, waiting to identify another factors that promote it.]]></p></abstract>
