Con el objetivo de evaluar la dinámica de crecimiento y componentes morfológicos en frutos de ciruela mexicana (Spondias purpurea L.) colectados en la Costa Chica de Guerrero y Oaxaca. Se identificaron 95 árboles. Para la curva de crecimiento se etiquetaron 50 frutos recién amarrados. Para la calidad morfológica se cosecharon frutos maduros, al azar se tomaron cuatro repeticiones de 100 frutos. Se evaluó en frutos y semillas el peso, diámetro polar y ecuatorial, la forma y color. Los datos se analizaron mediante medidas de tendencia central (SAS® 9.3). Los frutos de ciruela mexicana alcanzan la madurez a los 79 días. La curva de crecimiento presentó una dinámica que corresponde al tipo doble sigmoidal. Se encontraron nueve accesiones. Los frutos de mayor peso fueron los de las accesiones 1, 3, 7 y 9, tienen forma ovalada. Las semillas son leñosas y fibrosas, con peso desde 1.47 hasta 3. 3 g, de forma alargada. La mayoría presentó 80.00% o más de parte comestible. Los frutos presentaron calidad comercial, pero algunos son ácidos para consumo en fresco, se recomiendan investigaciones complementarias para abordar aspectos relacionados con el valor agregado.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The conservation of genetic resources in their center of origin makes it possible to meet nutritional needs in future times. With the objective of evaluating the growth dynamics and morphological components in mexican plum fruits (Spondias purpurea L.) collected on the Costa Chica of Guerrero and Oaxaca. 95 trees were identified. For the growth curve, 50 recently tied fruits were labeled. For morphological quality, ripe fruits were harvested; four repetitions of 100 fruits were taken at random. Weight, polar and equatorial diameter, shape and color were evaluated in fruits and seeds. The data were analyzed using measures of central tendency (SAS® 9.3). Mexican plum fruits reach maturity in 79 days. The growth curve presented a dynamic that corresponds to the double sigmoidal type. Nine accessions were found. The heaviest fruits were those of accessions 1, 3, 7 and 9, they are oval in shape. The seeds are woody and fibrous, weighing from 1.47 to 3.30 g, elongated in shape. The majority presented 80.00% or more of the edible part. The fruits presented commercial quality, but some are acidic for fresh consumption, complementary research is recommended to address aspects related to added value.]]></p></abstract>
